Fear of God

“But for you who fear my name, the sun of justice will arise with healing in its wings.”- (Malachi 3:20A)

Fear of God is one of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit. Fear of God is about being reverent to God vs. being afraid of God. Through his Son Jesus Christ, we received the gifts of the Holy Spirit; for these gifts to be what they were meant to be, we must put them into action. There are many ways to do that; we have many opportunities to express it. God wants our obedience just like parents want their children to obey them and the children seek to obey their parents. In relationships of mutual respect, even when the walls fall, the foundation stays strong. Because our humanity, we will never be one hundred percent faithful, reverent and loving towards God; however, he will always be. Therefore, he will always be outside our door waiting to shine his light upon us. It is critical, however, that we fear God. How? By loving him above everything else and by loving your neighbor as you love yourself. The formula is there to be reverent to God even if we are imperfect; even if we don’t follow it consistently.

May God bless you!!! Happy Sunday!!!
